Performance Plus Auction Returns and Makes New Start as Online Auction

The Performance Plus auction is back. The auction that was organized by Reesink Horses from 2004 to 2008 comes back as an online auction from 10 - 13 July 2020. 

Not only Reesink Horses brings in horses, but also MT-Stables (Marcel and Tamara van Manen), LvD Sporthorses (Linda van Doorn), Stal Wetzelaer (Peter Wetzelaer) and Leonie Bos.

These four stables, specialized in young horses, came up with the idea to have the auction restarted during this time. Together they put together a relatively small collection of 16 young dressage horses. Peter Wetzelaer immediately stepped in: “I was sincerely interested. In the meantime, the horse trade is getting back on track, but it is not yet like in previous years. An online auction allows people who may not be able to come over to the Netherlands now, to buy. The horses can of course be tried by an intermediary. In that respect it is just like a normal auction.”

‘Online auctioning seems more accepted’

Wetzelaer sees that online auctions are much more accepted lately. “I think the corona crisis has cranked the online auctions. You see everywhere that the prices on online auctions are increasingly close to physical auctions. That was not the case everywhere in previous years.”

Regarding prices, Wetzelaer also has good expectations of the Performance Plus online auction. 

“I think it has become a nice collection," said Peter. "We wanted to keep it clear for the buyers and therefore opted for a relatively small collection. It concerns high-quality, interesting 3 and 4-year-olds, some already ridden, but also a number of horses that are not under the saddle yet.”

"They are all horses that we fully support," Eugene added, "dressage horses that show quality and talent naturally, have fine characters and horses that are interestingly bred."

Auction Highlights

Such as Figo, the full brother of the stallion For Donnerhall who is available for breeding at Deckstation Schöckemohle. Or the mare Mulana, a 3 year old mare that is just under the saddle, but gives the rider a very special feeling.

Sport horses that show talent and potential for the future. McKenzy is an example of this, a gelding that descends from the stallion Governor and comes from a proven (sports)line. Also Franz Ferdinand, the half-brother of the stallion Vaderland, is a horse that shows a lot of talent for dressage.
