The 3-year old recently licensed Hanoverian stallion Blue Hors Dalian has died unexpectedly.

Dalian was a Hanoverian registered stallion by Dancier x Sir Donnerhall x De Niro, bred in Germany by Martin Honigfort.

He was first licensed at the 2019 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, followed by the 2020 Danish Warmblood Stallion Liensing last March. He passed the 10-day character test with flying colours.

Dalian stood at stud at Blue Hors, where he died unexpectedly.

"Blue Hors Dalian has lost his life without any prior signs or symptoms of illness," said breeding director Martin Klavsen. "The body has been transported to the University of Copenhagen, where the veterinary pathologists will try to give us an explanation. Of course we are very sad to lose such a young and promising young stallion, but we have to wait for answers from the studies and tests that have been initiated to identify the cause."
