Stable Swanenberg, the equestrian centre of former Dutch young rider Elisa Swanenberg, has been sold.
Thomas and Sanne van Heel purchased the property and will renovate it to include a cross country track and new footing. They will relocate from Oijen to their new property in Schaijk, The Netherlands.
The stable was owned by Henk Swanenberg, renowned Dutch business entrepreneur and founder of Swanenberg Iron Group that now has businesses in real estate, construction and much more.
In 2013 the centre was completely renovated when daughter Elisa decided for a dressage career. The family purchased the small tour horse, Hanoverian licensed stallion Akatschi (by (Akzent II x Wenzel I x Shogun xx) from Iron Spring Farm in the U.S.A.
Elisa and Akatschi made their international show debut in 2005 and they competed at Young Riders' level through 2008 with international starts in Hickstead, Zwolle, Neubeeren, Elmshorn, Roosendaal, and Saumur. She was trained with Coby van Baalen and Anky van Grunsven. In 2007 the family purchased Grand Prix horse Hiscox Karachi from Richard Davison's stable, but he ended up being leased to Isreali Roy First.
Elisa quit competition at the end of the 2000s, while Stable Swanenberg continued to exist as one of the leading equestrian venues in The Netherlands, hosting local, regional and national competitions.
Elisa became a mom of two children, Henk and Harry, in her mid twenties with husband Frank van der Loop.
The now 34-year old works in her family's iron company as well as for her own business DGA Netwerk Zuid, an event service company. Elisa's mom Maria is an avid collector of perfume bottles and has created her own private perfume museum in Schaijk.
Akatschi spent his retirement at Coby van Baalen's yard. He passed away at age 29 in August 2019.
