The 5-year old Spökenkieker V and the 6-year old Bonds became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held in Wipperfürth-Kreuzberg on 1 May 2019.
Hosted at a top notch equestrian facility Silberberghof, the qualifier drew out an impressive group of professional dressage riders presenting their youngsters for a ticket to the finals in Warendorf.
The 5-year old division was dominated by Nico Kapche on Gunther Voss' Hanoverian stallion Spökenkieker V (by Spörcken x Rotspon) on a score of 8.2 for the victory. He edged out the favourites for the win, Beatrice Buchwald on the Hanoverian stallion Zoom (by Zack x Don Schufro). The NRW state stud owned Zoom landed second place on 8.0. American Thomas Walker steered Ingetraud Bolz' Oldenburg stallion Ela Mana Mou (by Estobar x Rubino Rosso) to a third place on 7.7. They tied with Kim Burschnik on Bramall-Dusche's Oldenburg gelding Van Victorio BD (by Van Vivaldi x Don Frederico).
In the smaller group of 6-year olds Buchwald steered the Belgian owned Oldenburg licensing champion Bonds (by Benicio x Sir Donnerhall) to the top of the board on 8.7. They edged out the World Young Horse Championship silver medallists Frederic Wandres on the PSI auction horse Zucchero OLD (by Zonik x Prince Thatch xx). Wandres scored 8.6 for second place. Heiner Schiergen and the PSI auction horse Semias (by Sir Donnerhall x Fidermark) were third with 8.0.
