KWPN Elite Mare Annabel Passed Away

The Oldenburg bred mare Annabel (by De Niro x Romancier) has passed away on 26 January 2018. She was an elite, preferent and prestation mare with the KWPN society.

Bred by Rolf Kockgether in Ovelgoenne, Germany, Annabel was by De Niro out of Alina (by Romancier x Troublemaker x Courville).

The Dutch Jansen family from Joppe, The Netherlands, acquired the bay mare as a foal at the Oldenburg Elite Auction in October 1997.Annabel moved to The Netherlands and became a top stallion producer for the KWPN society.

As a 3-year old she scored 9.5 for rideability and 95 for gaits in the KWPN mare performance test and was accepted for the Dutch warmblood society.

Annabel produced 13 foals in total of which one by embryotransfer. She produce the KWPN licensed stallions Bretton Woods, Chagall D&R and the AES approved Gaudi. The KWPN licensed Four Legends KS is her grandson.

"We were so happy to have one of the first De Niro foals," said owned Welmoed Jansen. "She has been number 1 of the KWPN index for many years. We admired her beauty, her excellent gaits, her willingness to work and her fantastic character. She will also live on through her daughters and grandchildren. We will always remember her and will take care of her heritage."

The Jansen family still owns daughters Davigna (by Wynton), Havana (by Totilas) and Isabel (by Totilas), as well as grand daughters Karenina (by Governor) and Kashmyra (by Gaudi).
