Australian Horses Selected for 2017 World Young Horse Championships

2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

The dressage selectors of the Australian Equestrian Federation have selected the combinations that will represent Australia at the 2017World Championships for Young Dressage Horses which occur in Ermelo (NED) from 3 - 6 August 2017.

Australia is eligible to send two horses per age category and so far has picked pairs for the 5 and 6 year old division. No 7-year olds have been selected. A second round of applications sent into EA by June 27th may be considered in order to nominate reserve placings.

All four nominated combinations are based in Europe. The Danish based Pearce is selected with two horses, Burgess is based in Germany and Rooke hails from France. 

The combinations competing for Australia are the following:

5-year olds

  • Simone Pearce on Casablanca, a Hanoverian mare by Conen x Fidertanz, bred by Johannes Westendarp, owned by Helgstrand/Wandt
  • Rebecca Rooke on Muschamp Royal Black, a Trakehner gelding by All Inclusive x Biotop, bred and owned by Jean and Catherine Demoegen.

6-year olds

  • Briana Burgess - Gerion , a Dutch warmblood gelding by Jazz x Don Primero, bred by CJ Reemst, owned by Mary Hanna
  • Simone Pearce - Feodoro, a Hanoverian gelding by Fürstenball x Rosario, bred by Katrin Lüder-Kratzberg, owned by Helgstrand
