The 5-year old Bonita Springs and the 6-year old Sir Skyfall OLD became the winners of the very first Bundeschampionate qualifier held this 2017 show season in Germany. Hosted at the Anakenenhof equestrian centre in Hamburg, Germany, on 10 May 2017, the qualifier gathered a big field of twenty-two 5-year olds and twenty 6-year olds.
Judges Ralph Schmidt, Eckhard Wemhöner and Christoph Niemann favoured Kira Wulferding and the Rhinelander mare Bonita Springs (by Boston x Fidertanz) in the 5-year old division. Bred and owne dby Ulla Katzorke-Hellweg, the liver chestnut mare scored 9 for trot, 7.5 for walk and canter, 8.5 for submission and 8 for general impression to finish on a winning score of 8.10 points. Melanie Tewes and Lodbergen's Oldenburg licensed stallion Best For Me OLD (by Bretton Woods x Latimer) landed second place with a total of 8.0. The liver chestnut stallion scored 8 for trot and canter, 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for submission and 8 for general impression. They tied in second place with Frederic Wandres on Hof Kasselmann's Dr. Sambuco (by Dr. Jackson D x Samba Hit). The black stallion earned 8.5 for walk and trot, 7.5 for canter and submission and 8 for general impression.
In the 6-year old division judges Claudia Eiser, Ralph Schmidt and Eckhard Wemhöner saw the winner in Frederic Wandres on Anna von Staff-Reitzenstein's Oldenburg stallion Sir Skyfall OLD (by Sandro Hit x K2). The dark bay stallion scored 9.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 7 for submission and 8.5 for general impression to win on an overall of 8.40 points. Kira Wulferding and Brigitte Wittig' s home bred Oldenburg stallion Belucci W OLD (by Boston x Bismarck) were second with 8.3. The liver chestnut stallion eared 8.5 for walk, 8 for trot and canter, and 8.5 for submission and general impression.
