The Danish Equestrian Federation has confirmed that their 2017 World Cup Qualifiier in October will take place in Herning, instead of Odense. All negotiations have been done and the 2017 CDI-W Herning is now officially a go.
Taking place at the indoor exhibition centre Jyske Bank Boxen, right near the location of the 2013 European Dressage Championships in Herning, the arena will host the Danish World Cup qualifier for dressage and show jumping in 2017 and 2018.
"First of all, it is fantastic that we have managed to keep the World Cup in Denmark, when the cooperation between JBK Horse Shows and Odense municipality stopped. It is of great importance for the sport forward. The cooperation between the Federation and Danish Warmblood is a clear proof that breeding and sport are working towards the same goal. Furthermore, it's great that so many volunteers will help to lift the big task that a World Cup competition is," said Jens-Erik Majlund, the Secretary General of the Danish Equestrian Federation.
