Three Premium Dressage Stallions at 2015 Brandenburg Stallion Licensing

Three dressage bred stallions were proclaimed premium out of a group of 21 approved colts at the 2015 Brandenburg Stallion Licensing for German Sport Horses (DSP) in Neustadt/Dosse on 12 - 14 November 2015.

The German Sport Horse society eagerly looks at promoting its own stallions and breeding programme and therefore licensed three sons of their Bundeschampion Belantis who presented his first crop of sons at this licensing.

Three dressage bred stallions became premium but a licensing champion was not named. The youthful Belantis x Quaterman x Paradiesvogel dam was named premium. He is bred by Ulrike Rieseberg. Dietmar Schulz, member of the licensing committee praised him as "harmonious, mobile and supple. He is well balanced in trot, rhythmical and he showed this in freedom."

Bred by Stephan Borcherding, the Depeche Mode x Ehrenmann colt was the second premium dressage colt. He is owned by Heinrich Ramsbrock and he will be standing at State Stud Moritzburg. "He stood out with his exceptionally rhythmical trot, like a metronome. he moved the hind legs with much power.

Quintus Joachim Bösecke's Decurio x Quaterback was the third premium dressage stallion. This crowd favourite will be standing at the state stud in Neustadt/Dosse. "He impressed with each appearance he made. Always strong and relaxed he showed his very good temperament. He trotted with good impulsion from behind, swung through the body and was well carried."

At the auction following the licensing, the 7-year old Quintus (by Quaterback) became the price highlight. He sold for 65,000 euro to Ulla Salzgeber. The gelding Chetlag II (by Cellestial x Quando Quando) sold for 39,000 euro to the U.S.A. The average price for a sport horse at this auction was 21,153 euro. Two dressage bred licensed stallions were sold at this auction. The Furstenball x Sir Donnerhall I colt sold for 37,000 euro, the Franziskus x L'Ami colt for 30,000 euro.
