With the departure of Emma Kanerva as assistant trainer at Fleyenhof, Hubertus Schmidt went out to find a new work partner and found one in German A-team rider Fabienne Lutkemeier. The two prominent German Grand Prix riders will be collaborating.

Fabienne Lutkemeier will be taking over the ride of a few of Hubertus' horses in training.

"I'm looking forward to working with Hubertus Schmidt," Lutkemeier stated. "Hubertus lives only twenty minutes from our place and asked me if I wanted to ride a few horses at his place. And yes, that's what I want to do. Of course I will continue riding my own horses at home with my mom, but I believe I can combine both very well, especially because my studies are coming to an end. It's all about organisation."

The 25-year old Lutkemeier will graduate at the International Business School in Lippstadt. She has three Grand Prix horses to compete, D'Agostino, Qui Vincit Dynamis and Diamonds Forever. The latter horse, however, has left the Lutkemeier yard in August to be sold by its owner. Fabienne trains daily with her mom, German Grand Prix rider Gina Capellmann-Lutkemeier.

"Besides the  team trainer, Hubertus will now also support me daily in the training of my horses," Fabienne explained. "New horses, new input, increased results. It will be exciting."

Fabienne and D'Agostino were members of the German team that competed at the 2013 European Championships and 2014 World Equestrian Games.
