Benetton Dream Most Popular Breeding Stallion in Sweden in 2014

The Hanoverian licensed stallion Benetton Dream is the most popular dressage breeding stallion in Sweden for the 2014 breeding year. The Swedish Warmblood Breeding Society has released the preliminary breeding statistics for 2014 but they are not yet complete.

For the first time in five years a mildly positive trend is to be noticed again with the amount of breedings going up. The preliminary figures show that 3461 mares have been inseminated, compared to 3005 in 2013.

Swedish breeders bred 1704 times to a dressage stallion and 2159 times to a jumper stallion. The gestation rate is around 80%.

The most used dressage stallion is Benetton Dream (by Brentano II x Rotspon) with 137 mares covered. The second most popular stallion is the KWPN stallion Zuidenwind (by OO Seven x Jazz) with 84 mares covered, followed by the black Oldenburg Sir Oldenburg (by Sion x Contender) with 78 mares covered. The KWPN stallion Ampere (by Rousseau x Flemmingh) is no longer the most popular one. This year he covered 70 mares.

Sir Oldenburg has the highest fertility rate of 94.7%, followed by Zuidenwind (91.67%) and Furstenball (88.57%)
