Hubertus Schmidt and the Westfalian licensed stallion Escolar will not be competing at the 2014 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, on 7 - 10 August 2014. The stallion was withdrawn due to an injury.

Schmidt and the 5-year old Escolar (by Estobar x Furst Piccolo) qualified to compete for Germany and the Westfalian Verband in Verden, but the stallion injured himself in the stall. The injury is minor and the horse should be fit again in a few weeks. He has also been withdrawn from the 2014 Bundeschampionate in September.

"Of course we are giving Escolar the necessary time to recover and rehabilitate from this injury but we do regret not being able to compete in Verden and Warendorf," said owners Axel and Sandra Schürner.

The first reserve who can fill Escolar's spot is Soiree d’Amour (Oldenburger mare by San Amour - Latimer) ridden by Kira Wulferding.
