Fresh from her small tour victory at the 2014 CDI Hagen, Australia's Mary Hanna and her 8-year old Dutch bred Boogie Woogie claimed the Prix St Georges at the 2014 CDI Compiegne in France on 30 May - 1 June 2014. In the Intermediaire I and Inter I Kur it was Belgian Françoise Hologne-Joux and Warhol that wielded the axe of power.
Hanna and Hologne-Joux were breathing down each other's neck in the Prix St Georges with Hanna and Boogie Woogie (by Du Moulin x Florett As) acing the class on a score of 70.158% and Hologne-Joux on the 14-year old Hanoverian gelding Warhol (by Warkant x Saint Cloud) on their heels with 69.632%.
"Boogie Woogie was a star winning the Prix St Georges," Hanna wrote. "Big smiles all around. Missed trainer Patrik Kittel's calming voice in my ear and poor Rob (Mary's husband) who is home sick."
In the Intermediaire I the Belgian, who is always good for a top five spot with Warhol at international small tour events, took top honours with 71.211% and had Dutch Kevin de Bruin on the 12-year old Dutch warmblood Viva Las Vegas (by Flemmingh x Variant) behind her with 70.026%.
In the Inter I Kur Hologne-Joux bested the field once more with 75.025%, far ahead of all competition. Dutch Jeroen Okkema and the 9-year old KWPN bred Armany ZI (by Jazz x No Limit) were second with 71.325%.
