El Capone and All Inclusive Win Fourth Belgian WCYH Trial at 2014 CDN Flemalle

The Belgian young horse show circuit with a fourth qualified for the 2014 World Young Horse Championships held at the national show in Flemalle, Belgium, on 1 June 2014. The 5-year old El Capone and the 6-year old All Inclusive were the winners of the young horse finals' tests. The field of competitors was slightly smaller than at the previous three trials.

In the 5-year old division Tom Heylen and El Capone (by Tuschinski x Camus) reigned supreme with an 84.200 score, booking their third consecutive victory on the circuit and strengthening their hold on a ticket to Verden. Dominique Mohimont and El Corona Texel (by Wynton x Goodtimes) were the runners-up with 81 points, while Katrien Verreet and Quorum Y (by Quaterline x Uniform) were third with a minimal point difference (80.80).

Laurens Vanderbeeken and All Inclusive (by Abanos x Sir Lui) scored their second victory out of four in the 6-year old division. The pair received 81 points from the judges' panel and fended off German based Carl Cuypers on Anna Jaworski's Swedish warmblood Bilan (by Bocelli x Donnerschlag) with 81.60. Tom Franckx is back in the saddle after a leg fracture and steered the KWPN mare Dolores van de Kwikaard (by Zucchero x Royal Dance x Sion) to a third place with 79.60 points.

Flemalle also featured a 4-year old class, which was won by Julie Dossin on First Lady (by Sir Donnerhall x Johnson), while the Belgian based Dutch rider Veronique Swagemaekers was second with the Oldenburg licensed stallion Sixth Sense (by Sir Donnerhall I x Florencio) on a score of 78.80. Kara Bosman and Katharina (by Florestan x Rubinstein) were third with 77.80.

The final Belgian WCYH selection trial takes place in two weeks at the 2014 CDN Overijse on 15 June 2014. The nominate entries will be named by 23 June, the definite team will be announced on 21 July 2014.
