Yessin Rahmouni has returned to the show ring after a seven month break. Aboard his 2012 Olympic mount Floresco he posted a score 67.40 to win the Grand Prix at the national show in Roosendaal, The Netherlands, on Sunday 4 May 2014.

Rahmouni is born in The Netherlands to Moroccon parents and declared for Morroco a few years ago in order to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games. The late Princess Lala Amina of Morocco acquired Floresco (by Florestan x Rosenkavalier x Ricardo) for Rahmouni in November 2011 for his Olympic campaign.

Rahmouni and Floresco last appeared in public in November 2013 as both were sidelined for a while.  The 16-year old Westfalian licensed stallion got injured when he slipped and fell in the walker and Rahmouni himself suffered from Weil's disease (leptospirosis).

"I took the time for both of us to get back in shape," Rahmouni told Dutch equestrian magazine De Hoefslag. "In Roosendaal Floresco was really fresh so I rode a conservative test. It gives me a lot of cofidence that after such a long time and with such a conservative test I can be faultfree and ride a nice score."

Rahmouni is already qualified for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France, and will be starting at international shows soon.
