The Danish warmblood society has hired British Olympic team gold medallist Carl Hester as guest judge rider for the 2014 Danish warmblood young horse championships, which will be held during the 2014 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning, Denmark, 8 - 9 March 2014.
Hester will be test riding the 5-year-old dressage horses in the Young Horse Championship.
Annually there are two Young Horse Championships in Denmark: one in March held indoors and only for Danish warmblood bred horses and organized by the Danish warmblood society and one in October held during the CDI-W Odense for all breeds and organized by the Danish Equestrian Federation.
"We set the bar very, very high at the last Stallion Show when we hired Hasse Hoffmann and we quickly decided that it would take very special capacity to follow him. So we chose to go after the world's best dressage rider, Carl Hester, and fortunately we succeeded and for that we are just so terribly excited. It is a scoop of another world, and it is perfectly compatible with our desire to focus on professionalism at next year's show," said Danish Warmblood Executive Manager Casper Cassøe.
