Based on her outstanding performances at the 2013 Belgian Dressage Championships this weekend, Julie de Deken and her Holsteiner stallion Lucky Dance have been chosen to replace Jeroen Devroe on the Belgian team that will compete at the 2013 European Dressage Championships in Herning, Denmark on 20 - 25 August 2013.

Belgian chef d'equipe Jeroen van Lent and technical advisor Sjef Janssen announced the complete team for Herning at a press conference following the Kur to Music finals at the National Championships in Hulsterlo on Saturday evening 3 August 2013. Delphine Meiresonne and her Belgian warmbood Wipsy van 't Heihof (by Flemmingh x Saigon x Wendekreis) are the reserve combination.

The Belgian team includes 2013 Belgian champion Simon Missiaen, Claudia Fassaert, Philippe Jorissen and Julie de Deken.

Before their departure to Herning the team riders will go into training camp with Sjef Janssen. The Dutch coach is positive about his expections. "It is a nice point to see where we are at," Janssen commented. "In my opinion the horses can do much more and so do the riders."
