The first Pavo Cup qualifier outside Dutch borders proved to be a big success. The CDI Hartpury hosted the first ever foreign Pavo Cup selection trial on British soil on Thursday 4 July 2012, where Cashmir and Ducon became the high scoring horses of the day.
In the 5-year old division Danish Anders Dahl scored the most points aboard the Dutch bred and Swedish licensed Cashmiur (by Serano Gold x Michelangelo). Judges Hanneke Gerritsen, Eddy de Wolff van Westerode and Ine van Deurzen praised the long-legged elegant bay for his expressive gaits and quick hind leg. Dahl rode the stallion for the horse's owner and his fiancee Fiona Bigwood.
The second best performing 5-year old was Corchapin (by Negro x Amsterdam), presented by Jo Hamilton. The horse stood out with his self carriage, good walk and potential for collection. He was also named the Best British Bred KWPN horse in Hartpury. Corchapin is bred by S.M. Tyler-Evans from Wickham, Hantfordshire.
The grey Carilla (by Flemmingh x Jazz) qualified for the Pavo Cup semi Finals in The Netherlands in August. Ridden by Louise Davison, this grey star mare stood out with her suppleness and three correct basic gaits.
None of the 4-year olds qualified for the Pavo Cup semi-finals but the highest scoring 4-year old was Ducon (by Scandic x Gershwin), ridden by Emma Williams. The pair scored 68.5 points.
