British junior Jessica Gale has sadly withdrawn from competing on the British team at the 2012 European Junior Riders Championships to be held in Berne, Switzerland, next week from 11 - 15 July 2012. Jessica Knapton is taking her spot.

Gale will not be showing her 10-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Umbro S (by Jazz) in Berne despite them successfully attending the pre-training camp at Keysoe, where they were coached by Stephen Clarke.

"My horse is fine. He is just not 100% and will have a break and some time off before coming back for next year," Gale told Eurodressage. I'm sure the team will do well and I'll be cheering them on from home."

Gale's place will be taken by the 17-year old Jessica Knapton from Hull on her own German bred dark bay gelding Remarkable (by Royal Diamond). The combination joins Claire Gallimore (Daniolo), Gaby Lucas (Laurentius II) and Abigail Slater (Lou Wega).

Joanna Thurman-Baker and Highcliffe Apollo have become the first reserve for the Junior team.
