The Dutch Equestrian Federation and KWPN society have held their third observation trial and training day this April for long listed Dutch horses which aim for selection for the 2012 World Young Horse Championships in Verden. On Tuesday 24 April 2012 the long listed combinations gathered at the KNHS headquarters in Eremelo, The Netherlands, for a presentation and training session.

Each combination had to ride the preliminary test of their age division and were afterwards briefly coached by Johan Hamminga, who gave the riders some tips and training directions.

Initially seventeen 5-year olds and fifteen 6-year olds were included on the long list, but two 5-year olds (Citho, Cabola) and six 6-year olds (Beautiful Girl, Bellestrade, Bolsan, Beau Sejour, Bombay, Banderas) were dropped from the invitation list for the following observation trial.
