What's Happening in the Dressage World?

The Arnheim court has acquitted Dutch stallion owner Joop van Uytert from the accusation of stealing water. The Dutch water company Vitens sued Van Uytert for stealing 131,000 kubic meter water between May 2003 and June 2009 which supposedly filled his pond on his equestrian facility.  Van Uytert could have got a 10,000 euro fine as well as 180 hours penal labour, but the Arnheim court ruled in favour of Van Uytert due to lack of concrete evidence that the 43-year old Dutchmen illegally tapped water.

On Nadine Capellmann's website you can find unique photos of her number one Grand Prix Elvis VA (by Espri) when he was a foal. Check out three cute pictures of baby Elvis.

We got a quick update from Australian Olympian Hayley Beresford who is battling cancer yet again. "I'm doing OK," Beresford told Eurodressage. "I'm half way through treatment now and have been able to keep riding all the way through. At the end of this week I have a break for a few weeks, so I'm planning a competition first and then a little holiday to Thailand. It feels like ages since I have been able to compete." Hayley's last show was the CDIO Aachen early July 2011. Beresford also got a new Grand Prix horse to ride for a year for its Australian owner. Details on the identity of this 'Knight in Shining Armour' will soon be revealed.

Danish Junior Rider Anne Fabricius Tange has a new horse to ride: Grosso's Erbe. The 11-year old chestnut Westfalian stallion (by Grosso Z x Parademarsch I) was initially trained and competed by Joachim Thomsen and Pether Markne. The buckskin German Riding Pony Geronimo B, who was initially competed by Belgian Loranne Livens and then by Dutch Sanne Gilbers, has found a new rider. The Dutch Joelle Peters, a student of Marlies van Baalen, will be competing the cute pony at FEI level next year.

Dynamico OLD was the steady partner of German disabled rider Bettina Bayreuther, who is trained by Markus Erkens.

The liver chestnut Oldenburg stallion Rubino Rosso passed away at age 17. The stallion was based at Station Hoffmann in the Oldenburg area and was by Rubinstein out of the famous Elite Mare Chinchilla (by Zeus x Armand). Rubino Rosso was a premium stallion at the 1996 Oldenburg licensing and was the price highlight at the auction, selling for 240,000 Deutsch Marks. He did his stallion performance test in Neustadt/Dosse in 1997 as reserve champion of the dressage index.  He has one licensed son, the Baden Wurttemberger bred Ridley (out of an Admirano dam).

In an interview with Dressage-News.com Carl Hester admitted thathe didn't really have time to float on cload nine after his huge, historic successes at the 2011 European Championships. Ken Braddick asked Carl if he had come down to Earth yet, to which Hester replied: “I never left,” he said. “After Rotterdam I had four days of teaching. Then I went to Spain to get away from it all. Whle I was there I got the ‘flu. By the time I recovered and got back to England I’d forgotten all about the championships by the time I got around to enjoying it.”

?"For this one we gave a time limit!" judge Wilfried Bechtolsheimer told Daniel Sherriff before mounting Woodlander Farouche who was going to test-ride the mare in the 2011 British Young Horse Championships held at the Nationals in Stoneleigh last weekend.
