Sonnenaufgang, Top Seller at 2011 Westfalian Elite Foal Auction

Westfalian Auctions in Münster-Handorf

The fantasticly moving colt Sonnenaufgang became the top selling foal at the 2011 Westfalian Elite Foal Auction in Munster-Handorf held on Saturday and Sunday 13 - 14 August 2011. Clients from Uzbekistan paid 63,500 euro for this brilliant dressage and stallion prospect.

This bay colt, which was initially named Sibirischer Sommer II, is bred by Josef Nachtigall and is by San Amour out of a Don Christobal x Ladero dam.

The second most expensive foal was Heinrich Sterthoff's bay colt Quidam Obolensky. This Quidam de Revel x Cornet Obolensky x Ligorett sold for 46,000 euro to Uzbekistan as well.

THe bay colt Baron Leatherdal was the third most expensive foal. This colt by Boston (by Jazz x Flemmingh) out of Lady Leatherdale (by Lord Loxley x Ferragamo) sold for 34,000 euro

The chestnut colt Viva Westfalia (by Vitalis x De Niro x Ramino) sold for 26,000 euro, while the black colt Best Before Ending (by Bretton Woods x Furst Heinrich x De Niro) sold for 25,000 euro to Estonia.

Heinz Kuse's bay colt Rockencio (by Rock Forever x Florencio x Longchamp) sold for 20,000 euro.

In Munster-Handorf no absurd prices were paid for the Totilas offspring. One filly was offered for sale, out of a Rosenkavalier x Athenagoras xx dam, and she sold for 9,000 euro, just 1,000 euro more than Totilas' current stud fee!
