2011 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses

Senta Kirchhoff and her Hanoverian gelding Soulmate struck back by winning the 6-year old Consolation Finals and earning a place in the big finals on Sunday at the 2011 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, on Saturday morning 6 August 2011. Kirchhoff will be joined by Jana Freund on Aaron, Gerdine Maree on Athene and Kristine Moller on Freak Blue Phantom.

The top three ranked horses in the consolation finals earn a spot in the big finals to complete the field of competitors to a total of 15. For the 6-year olds there will be 16 competitors this year as two horses tied on third place.

Kirchhoff and her long legged and large framed dark bay Sandro Hit x Calypso II offspring has three powerful gaits: big groundc overing trot, a decent walk and a  canter in which the hind leg is quick and engaged. He scored 8.38.

German Jana Freund and the Belgian bred and owned but Dutch branded Aaron (by Florencio x Record) were second with 8.36, while Gerdine Maree and the former pavo cup champion Athene (by United x Jazz) finished third with 8.1. Maree tied with Danish Kristina Moller on the Oldenburg Freak Blue Phantom (by Florencio).
