Austrian number one dressage rider Victoria Max-Theurer has withdrawn from competing at the 2011 CDIO Aachen due to personal health problems. The 25-year old rider suffers from a pulmonary embolism and is not able to compete.

This week Victoria experienced problems breathing and went to the general physician who transferred her to the hospital. After one night in observation, doctors diagnosed her with the beginnings of a pulmonary embolism. Though Max-Theurer will normally make a full recovery, she will be staying in the hospital for a week for further tests as this could develop into a life-threathening condition.

Max-Theurer was entered to show her top horse Augustin OLD (by August der Starke x Rohdiamant). She has planned on premiering a new freestyle at Aachen.
