Scampolo Top Priced Horse at 2010 Verden Spring Elite Auction

Scampolo achieved the top knock down price at the 2010 Hanoverian Spring Elite Auction in Verden, Germany. A Westfalian based dressage stable acquired Franz Blaser's Sir Donnerhall x Weltmeyer x Abajo xx son for 127,000 euro.

The black stallion Santander Hit (by Sandro Hit x Weltmeyer x Aarking xx) sold for 90,000 euro to a Hamburg dressage stable. The 6-year old licensed stallion Lehmann (by Londonderry x Argentinus) sold for 88,000 euro to same stable.

American dressage fans bought the dark bay mare Romanze K (by Riedinger x Davignon x Weltmeyer) for 51,000 euro while Blue Hors stud acquired Darnell (by Don Frederico x Waikiki x Western Stern) for 50,000 euro

The best selling show jumping youngster was Crespa, a Contender x For Pleasure offspring, which sold for 87,000 euro to Great Britain.

A collection of foals was also included on the sales list. The most expensive foal was Botschafter, a Bonifatius x De Niro colt, which sold for 32,000 euro to Sweden. The average price for a foal was 6,930 euro.

The average price for a Hanoverian sport horse was 30,345 euro. Seventy-five horses were sold and thirty-five of them move abroad. The countries buying the most horses were Denmark, Great Britain and the U.S.A.
