Sailor Moon, Price Highlight of the 2010 Vechta Spring Elite Auction

The dark bay Oldenburg stallion Sailor Moon (by Sandro Hit x Rohdiamant x Zirkoon) became the price highlight of the 2010 Spring Elite Auction of Oldenburg Sport horses in Vechta, Germany, 27 March 2010.

American Marta Kaufmann of Los Angeles, California acquired the stallion for 140,000 euro. Marta's trainer Jaye Cherry came to the auction to try the stallion, and did the bidding with the help of her friends, Kathy Marx and Johannes Westendarp.

Second most expensive auction horse was the liver chestnut stallion Sohn der Sonne (by Sir Donnerhall x Sion x Pik Bube) which sold for 100,000 euro to Sweden. The dark bay Diamond Forever (by Diamond Hit x Royal Diamond) achieved a knock down price of 70,000 euro. He will move to France.

American Christina Vinios and her parents Zachary and Lou who purchased Folkestone (by Fidertanz x Rubinstein) for 60,000 euro. Mexican Monica Burssens was also on hand and helped to ensure five horses. They will all be headed for Florida! Thirteen horses in total sold to North America.

Forty-five Oldenburg bred sport horses were sold at the spring elite auction, of which 25 sold abroad. The average price was 28,800 euro.
