The crisis seems to be over as sensationally high prices were paid for Oldenburg bred young sport horses at the 2009 Elite Fall Auction in Vechta, Germany, on October 3, 2009. The stunning price highlight was the bay gelding Don Primeur, which sold for 505,000 euro

to Annette Ejlersgaard, who sponsors and trains with Danish Olympic team rider Andreas Helgstrand.

Bred and presented at auction by Arnold Wegbund, Don Primeur was the winner of the Oldenburg Regional Championships and was qualified for the Bundeschampionate, but didn't compete there. Don Primeur is by Don Primero x Castro x Weltmeister and will move to Helgstrand's Møgelmosegård in the north of Denmark.

The second most expensive horse was the Grand Prix level trained licensed breeding stallion Starlight (by Sandro Hit x Cordeur x Argentinus). The black stallion, which was previously owned by the young American Rick Rockefeller-Silvia, sold for 170,000 euro to the Niedsachsen State Stud in Hannover. Rockefeller-Silvia on his part acquired three new youngsters, including Douceur ( Don Primero x Royal Dance x Volturno), Sakramenter (by Samarant x Westminster x Cardinal xx), and Fergonn (by Florencio I x Hill Hawk xx x Aktuell).

The most expensive young sport pony was Cream de Luxe (by Champion de Luxe x Top Nonstop x Centurion Torreado). This palomino stallion sold for 23,000 to a young German rider. Much was expected of Bundeschampionate reserve champion Batida de Coco (by Boyfriend x Caesar x Colorado S) but the owner purchased her own pony back for 20,000 euro.

Danish Lone Boegh Henriksen acquired the most expensive foal of the auction. She bought the amazing mover Winehouse, a Wynton x Donnerhall x Classiker colt, for 58,000 euro. This chestnut colt is out of the same dam as Henriksen's Oldenburg Licensing Champion Furstenball. The bay filly Rosenschön (by Sir Donnerhall x Pik Labionics x Lord Liberty) sold for 30,000 euro to Sweden. The chestnut colt Fuchsberger (by Fidertanz x Sandro Hit x Karon/T) sold for 25,000 euro to Spain.
