Ariadne, Price Highlight of the 2009 Summer Mixed Sales

The 4-year old black Oldenburg mare Ariadne (by Furst Heinrich x Rubinstein) became the price highlight of the Summer Mixed Sales auction at the Oldenburg equestrian centre in Vechta, Germany, June 7, 2009.

The 163 cm standing mare, bred and presented at auction by Karl Werner Boettges, sold for 26,000 euro to a Niedersachsen based dressage rider. The Summer Mixed Sales included young Oldenburg sport horses, brood mares and foals. Thirty-one sport horses sold at an average price of 11,465 euro.

The Oldenburg Verband was especially pleased with the results of the foal collection. The colt Fiderzauber (by Fidertanz x Don Gregory) sold for the top knockdown price of 20,000 euro to Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff. Georg Siederding's colt Zack Zack (by Zack x Florestan) sold for 15,000 euro to Sweden. The average price for a foal was 7,781 euro.

The best selling brood mare was Elektra (by Contendro x Silvio x Feiner Stern) which sold for 9,000 euro.

The next auction in Vechta is the Elite Foal Auction on 28 - 29 August 2009.
