Desperado, Price Highlight at 2007 Vechta October Elite Auction

Desperado became the price highlight of the 2007 Oldenburg October Elite Auction in Vechta, Germany, October 7, 2007. The 4-year old black gelding Desperado sold for 210,000 euro to Pferd 24, the company of Simon Kohlenbrenner and dressage rider Nadine Plaster based in Baden Wurttemberg, Germany. Desperado, who placed fourth at the Oldenburg regional championships this summer, will be trained by Plaster.

Second most expensive horse was Re Call, a 3-year old State Premium mare by Royal Olymp out of Deluxe (by De Niro x Rubinstein). Bred by Ira Denkhaus of Gestut Kempke Hof in Plaaz, this mare sold to Brazil for 91,000 euro. Re Call won bronze at the Oldenburg Regional Championships and was placed at the Bundeschampionate.

Thirteen riding horses sold for over 50,000 euro. The third highest knock down price was 85,000 euro, paid by a Westfalian buyer for Savonarola, a Sandro Hit x Rubinstein x Absinth gelding. Wolfgang Strizke acquired Dorion (Dormello x Sion) for 75,000 euro. The gelding will go in training with Martin Christensen.

The most expensive foal was Dessert Storm, a Desperados x Walt Disney colt bred by Johannes Veenhuis. He sold for 28,500 euro to Switzerland. The most expensive pony was the 4-year old show jumping pony Anka (by Constantin x Landsieger I), who sold for 17,000 euro and will be ridden by Nadine Plaster.

Seventy-one riding horses sold in total at the 2007 Oldenburg October Elite Auction and they achieved an average price of 31,704 euro. Thirty-six foals were auctioned at an average price of 10,097 euro.
