Vivaldo, Uphill and Dreamcatcher were the grand winners of the 2007 KWPN/KNHS Stallion Competition Finals hosted at the 2007 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, the first weekend of February.
At L-level, Vivaldo (Polansky x Montecristo) and his owner Mirelle van Kemenade were undefeatable. Judge Marian Dorresteijn praised Vivaldo's natural uphill conformation, good hind leg usage and balance. Second place went to Hans Peter Minderhoud and Johnson (Jazz x Flemmingh). The third place went to Maaike van Grasstek on Santano (Sandro Hit x Silvano).
At M-level, Emmelie Scholtens and Uphill took highest honours. The bay Oscar xx Apollonios xx offspring excelled in his uphill canter and clear walk. He scored 83.5 points and stayed just ahead of Hans Peter Minderhoud on Uptown (Kennedy x Ubis). Despite the fact that Uptown has a beautiful front and showed lovely canter extensions, the stallion was tense throughout the presentation. They scored 83 points. Edward Gal and United (Krack C x Partout/T) finished third with 79 points.
Mirelle van Kemenade and her Oldenburg bred, former PSI auction horse Dreamcatcher (Day Dream x Rubinstein) were the undisputed winners at Z-level. Judge Wolfs said, "dressage has to be simple. This presentation was simple, which makes it so beautiful and natural. The stallion is completely focused on his rider. In walk he is totally relaxed and in trot and canter he stays nicely uphill." The second place went to Kim Leduc on Trento B (Krack C x Ramiro). The bay stallion showed much cadence in trot and showed good potential for collection. Hans Peter Minderhoud and Tango (Jazz x Contango) landed a third place. The chestnut KWPN stallion was nicely uphill but showed tension in the beginning. The highlight of their performance was the extended trot.
