Dutch equestrian magazine De Hoefslag reported that Madeleine Vrees will stop riding the Grand Prix mare Punto Blanko's Madorijke as of October 1, 2006. The decision to end the combination Vrees-Madorijke was made in agreement with the owner and breeder of the mare, Mr. J. van Venrooij.

Vrees trained Madorijke (Contango x Voltaire) from green broken to Grand Prix level. She competed her at the World Young Horse Championships and moved her up the levels from there. One of their career highlights was the 2004 CDI-W Maastricht, where they were the best Dutch combination in the big tour scoring 75.400% in the Kur to Music.

"I had much fun with this mare, but it's time for a new challenge," Vrees told De Hoefslag. "the contract ends October 1 and the breeder has agreed to take it more easy."

Van Venrooij has offered the 13-year old mare to Dutch junior rider Romy van der Schaft who will be competing her in the future at junior riders level. "I had enough of top sport and Grand Prix," Van Venrooij told De Hoefslag.
