Isabell Werth's second Grand Prix horse Nobilis Amaretto died after a long struggle with a serious colic attack. Although the gorgeous bay gelding fought hard against mother nature he nor a team of qualified vets were able to secure salvation.

The Westfalian gelding by Argentinus dealt with internal problems on a regular basis, and this illness was the reason for Isabell Werth's absence at the 1998 CHIO Aachen.

With Amaretto's death Isabell loses her best substitute for Gigolo and the dressage world has lost its best upcoming Grand Prix horse at the time.
