-- FEI quick press release
Dongheon Nam (KOR) and Leonidas claimed Individual gold at the Asian Games at JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo (JPN), scoring 75.190%. In a closely fought final in which less than 0.3 percentage points separated the top three, Jiayi Yu (CHN) and Jackpoint took silver, while Sarah Rao (CHN) and Geniaal secured bronze.
Nam and Leonidas had already achieved the highest Individual score in Friday’s Prix St Georges. They slipped slightly down the individual standings yesterday, but were back to their best today. As the final combination to enter the arena, they scored 75.190%, meaning Nam immediately knew the gold medal was his.
Yu and Rao have also been in strong form throughout the competition. Yu and Jackpoint scored 75.050%, finishing just behind Nam to take silver. Rao and Geniaal were close on the heels of both Nam and Yu, securing bronze with 74.935%.
