After a successful horse inspection on Monday mornning 10 August 2026, in which all horses passed, the 91 combinations competing in the 2026 World Championships Dressage in Aachen got a second opportunity to familiarize their horses with the grand stadium and show ring. From 11h15 till 20h00 there was a non-stop flow of horses coming and going into the arena.
The familiarization is organized by country and each gets 20 minutes in the 10-minute ring and then 20 minutes in the main stadium. Some countries opted for each rider to have 5 minutes alone time in the ring, while other countries had all four riders in the ring at the same time. Not every ride chose to use the familiarisation time. Carl Hester and Wendi Williamson did not.
