Vespasian became the best selling foal in the 2026 Oldenburg Elite foal auction in Vechta held on Saturday 8 August 2026.
A big collection of 79 foals was presented at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta. Exciting bidding wars and international interest ensured a successful open-air auction evening.
Vespasian (by Vespasiano x Millennium) was most wanted. Even during the pre-bidding, the colt from the debut crop of the Viva Gold son Vespasiano was in high demand and entered the auction ring with a bid of over 25,000 euros. There, the bidding duel continued before the hammer fell at 57,000 euro.
For Velantis (by For Romanxe x Vitalis) fetched 45,000 euro, Dinastico (by Dante Weltino x San Amour) 40,500 euro and Balthasar AH (by Bon Esprit x Dancing Hit) 40,000 euro.
El Tri (by Erste Sahne x Belantis) found a new owner for 23,000 euro. Two foals sold for 22,000 euro: Zorro (by Zinedine x Lord Pezi) and Viva For Gold 2S EBS (by Viva Gold x Bretton Woods).
Vjentino (by Vjento x Furstenball) went for 18,000 euro, Semper Fi (by St. Emilion x Furst Romancier) for 14,000 euro.
A Swede bought Rioja (by Red Viper x Furstenball) for 11,000 euro. Bandolera HL (by Bon Bolero x Lord of Loxley) goes to Holland for 10,500 euro. A Spaniard secured Sanssouci (by St. Emilion x Vivino) for 10,000 euro. A Polish customer bought Bon La Vie (by Bon Courage x La Vie) for 9,000 euro.
An Estonian got Verona (by Viva Vegas x Foundation) for 4,500 euro. Vleuten (by Vuelta x Dante Weltino) moves to Holland for the same price.
The average price for a foal in this auction was 11,487 euro.
