Job Offer
Senta Kirchhoff and Henri Ruoste at Gut Bertingloh in Menden

Finnish Olympian Henri Ruoste and his wife, German Grand Prix rider Senta Kirchhoff, are looking for a qualified individual who can run the stable management at Gut Bertingloh in Menden, Germany.

"We know we are looking for a unicorn, someone who thrives in a role of responsibility, who could supervise the stable management as well as be a show groom," said Ruoste.  "The person would work in a team of five or six grooms, and would have also a possibility to bring more grooms onboard to strengthen the team."

The team at Gut Bertingloh has been growing recently with Grand Prix riders Harrison Ashton and Theodora Livanos taking residence, so there are several openings at the yard: one for a stable manager, as well as positions for show and/or home grooms.

What We Look For

Gut Bertingloh is looking for a person who loves working with horses and based on their experiences and commitment can be allocated the manger position and/or the show/home groom job.

Duties include the daily care routines, feeding, turnout, blanket management, and conditioning support. S/he will assist in the pre- and post ride care and therapy of the horses. S/he needs to have experience with high performance sport horses.

S/he will coordinate, supervise and mentor a team of grooms; set routines and maintain consistency.

The person needs to have an eye for detail, be tidy and organized (tack room), punctual (feed schedule, vet/farrier appointments), as well as oversee the preparation for a relatively light, well-planned show schedule. This includes packing, and logistics with a calm, professional demeanor, even in under pressure situations.
