European Children Champion Laura Kohoutek has acquired First Major as her iron in the fire for the junior level classes.

First Major is a 7-year old Oldenburg gelding by For Dance out of the Baden Wurttemberger mare Rubina (by Royal Diamond x Landclassic). He is bred by Nicole Kohler.

First Major

The bay gelding has been trained and competed up to M-level by Jasmin Schaudt.

She debuted him as a 4-year old at the local show in Biberach-Rissegg. In 2024 she did two shows on the horse winning two classes, while in 2025 they competed at three regional shows, winning the Bundeschampionate qualifier in Winterlingen with 8.44. They did not head to Warendorf for the Finals.

Preparing for Juniors

The Kohoutek family has acquired First Major for their pony riding daughter Laura. The 14-year old Laura has aged out of the Children division, but still has two years to go on ponies.

Laura made her international show debut at the 2024 CDI Aachen Young Stars on former German team pony Der Kleine Sunnyboy. In 2025 she competed both her pony as well as the 8-year old Hanoverian mare Shakeela (by Secret x Royal Blend) in the children's division. After placing in the top three at the 2025 CDIO-CH Hagen she was selected on the German team for the 2025 European Children Championships in Le Mans, where she won team and individual gold.
