Diallo BB and Viva Gold OLD became the recipients of the 2025 Otto Lörke prize.  The prize used to be handed out at the CDI-W Stuttgart in November, but this year was given to two riding Grand Prix horses in Frankfurt.

The Otto Lörke prize is annually bestowed upon the most successful rising Grand Prix horses in Germany of the year.  The prize is awarded to Grand Prix horses between the ages of 8 - 10. The horse, trainer and owner receive special recognition from the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) and Liselott Schindling Foundation.

This year the Otto Lörke Prize was awarded for the 39th time. Previous winners of the prize are Satchmo, Bonaparte, Elvis VA, Chacomo, Farbenfroh, Rusty, Grunox, Gigolo, Goldstern, Rembrandt, Bella Rose, Showtime FRH, and Quantaz.

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl's hope for the future, Diallo BB (by Dancier x Floriscount), recently won the World Cup qualifier in Stuttgart. Before that, they booked five international wins in Wiener Neustadt, Munich and Hagen. The 10-year old Hanoverian is co-owned by Anette Göbelsmann-Schweitzer and Beatrice Burchler-Keller. He was trained by Jasmin Schaudt, Roxana Noack and brought to Grand Prix level by Uta Gräf.

"I'm completely in love with him," said Jessica. "He's a clown in the stable, and when I ride him, he gives me the feeling every day of enjoying learning new things. We've grown together, developed a good foundation, and yet we're still at the beginning of our time together. I'm very grateful to be able to continue his training. He's recently gained strength and we're progressing. I'm very excited to see where our journey takes us."

Isabell Werth's rising star is the 9-year old Oldenburg licensed stallion Viva Gold (by Vivaldi x For Romance), which is bred by Christine Arns-Krogmann and owned by Antje Gehring of Gestüt Westfalenhof in partnership with Madeleine Winter-Schulze. The chestnut only moved in training with Werth at the start of 2025. They won the Louisdor Cup final this weekend. The stallion never competed internationally so far.

"He is a very special horse with a wonderful aura. Nothing is difficult for him, and it's incredible how cool and composed he already is," said Werth. "We are still at the beginning of our development together, but his potential is so promising. He has everything a championship horse needs."
