For the first time in more than a decade not a single dressage rider nor dressage horse has been put forward for the annual vote of USEF International Horse and Equestrian of the Year.
Even though the U.S.A. had three dressage combinations competing at the 2025 World Cup Finals in Basel (SUI), none of the horses nor riders were nominated for the honorary title. They were Adrienne Lyle (Helix), Kevin Kohmann (Dünensee), and Genay Vaughn (Gino).
The USEF International Equestrian of the Year will be named on 15 January 2026 during the Pegasus Awards Dinner at the 2026 US Equestrian Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky. The International Horse of the Year will be named on 17 January 2026, at the USEF Horse of the Year Awards Dinner.
The horses in the running for the title "International Horse of the Year" are jumpers Bisquetta and Greya, and eventer Larcot Z. Athletes in the running to become "International Equestrians of Honor" are driver Tracy Bowman, jumping rider Kent Farrington, and eventer Boyd Martin.
