
The 3-year old mare Tainted Love became the top selling horse in the 2025 Klosterhof Medingen auction which took place on 27 September 2025.
A collection of 41 horses was offered for sale including riding horses and foals.
The 2022 born Hanoverian mare Tainted Love (by Total McLaren x Furst Romancier x Belissimo M), bred by Michael Schenk, was the most wanted horse in the lot. Thirty-seven bids were made and in the end she sold for 550,000 euro to Lower Saxony. This mare competed at the Hanoverian elite mare show in the summer and finished fourth at the Hanoverian Young horse Championships. She did not compete at the Bundeschampionate although qualified.
The second most expensive horse was the 5-year old Denali (by Damaschino x Sir Donnerhall), bred by Tim Philipp Reer. He sold for 335,000 euro to a client from the Holstein area.
Two horses sold for 110,000 euro: the 4-year old Donabilis (by Damaschino x Licotus) and the 9-year old Fashion Girl (by Furst Belissaro x Matcho AA).
More high prices were paid for the youngsters. Secret's Girl (by Secret x Dancier) fetched 85,000 euro and moves to Holland, Viete (by Va Pensiero x Herbstkonig) went for 80,000 euro, and Delantino (by Danone x Latimer) for 70,000 euro. Be My Girl (by Borsalino x Hohenstein) sold for 60,000 euro to Hessia.
Verano (y Va Pensiero x Danone) sold for 27,000 euro to the U.S.A., while Tiffany (by Total McLaren x Conello) goes to Austria for 25,000 euro.
Brits bought Sherlock Holmes (by St. Emilion x De Niro) for 12,000 euro, while a Dutch client purchased Saint Coeur (by St. Emilion x Bon Coeur) for 12,500 euro.
Galaxy (by Global Hope x Finest) went for 14,000 euro. Four foals struggled to get bids. A Brit offered 4,000 euro for Salute (by St. Emilion x Quantensprung) and got him as sole bidder.
The average price for a sport horse was 113,138 euro, of course boosted by the price highlight. The average price for a foal was 10,065 euro.
