The Oldenburg bred and licensed Escanto PS became the most popular dressage breeding stallion amongst Oldenburg breeders in 2022 with the most foals registered Oldenburg in 2023.
Escanto PS
The 2019 born Escanto PS (by Escamillo out of Fairytale PS (by Fürstenball x Totilas)) shot to the top of the ranking as his first crop of foals was born in 2023. He immediately beat the leader of the 2022 ranking, Dynamic Dream, but only by a small margin.
Escanto PS is bred and owned by Paul Schockemöhle and was accepted for Oldenburg breeding in a private, home licensing carried out in January 2022. Four months later the Hanoverian verband also approved him.
He won the shortened stallion performance test with a whopping 9,43 and did a 50-day stallion performance test in Schlieckau in the autumn of 2022, scoring 9,12 for dressage.
Under American Brandi Roenick he won the 2023 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede followed by gold at the 2023 Bundeschampionate. In 2024 Escanto won the Oldenburg main premium title.

Five of the top 10 stallions are (co-)owned or offered by Schockemohle through his partnership with Andreas Helgstrand.
The best performing stallion not-owned by the "mega-size" stallion keeprs is Secret, who sired 101 foals registered with Oldenburg in 2023 but then did not stand at stud for the rest of that year. It will be interesting to see how many breeders chose frozen semen in 2023.
Bonds (by Benicio x Sir Donnerhall) follows in 6th place with 75 foals Oldenburg registered. He is owned by Hoffrogge and Puttmann, who bought him from Belgian dressage rider Anemone Samyn.
