Wagman and Ebeling Added to American A-Squad, Six Riders on Elite List

Nick Wagman and Benjamin Ebeling are the new additions to the American A-squad for dressage, which is called the "Elite List" by the US Equestrian Federation. 

US Equestrian announced updates to all six squads/dressage programmes, from young horse level to Grand Prix. 

Elite List

The A-squad, or Dressage Elite Program Members, now includes six riders in total. They are considered the Olympic team potentials for Tokyo.

  • Olivia LaGoy-Weltz  with Rassing's Lonoir, her and Mary Anne McPhail’s Danish Warmblood gelding
  • Adrienne Lyle  with  Harmony’s Duval, Duval Partner LLC’s Dutch Warmblood gelding and and Salvino, Betsy Juliano LLC’s Hanoverian stallion
  • Steffen Peters  with Suppenkasper, Four Winds Farm’s and Akiko Yamazaki’s KWPN gelding
  • Sabine Schut-Kery with Sanceo, Alice Womble’s Hanoverian stallion
  • Nick Wagman with Don John, Beverly Gepfer’s Dutch Warmblood gelding
  • Ben Ebeling with Illuster van de Kampert, Amy Ebeling and Sasha Cutter for Nuvolari Holdings, LLC’s Belgian Warmblood gelding.
Pre-Elite List

The B-squad, or Dressage Pre-Elite List, has seven new additions.  

The Dressage Pre-Elite List underpins the Elite Program and seeks to provide support and guidance to those combinations in the 69-73% Grand Prix score range so they are able to succeed in reaching Elite Member status (consistent 73%+ score range):

  • Jennifer Schrader-Williams with  Millione, Millione Partners LLC’s, Danish Warmblood gelding

Development Program

Updates were also made to the USEF Dressage Development Program Members' List. 

Cindy Jackson has been added with Florisson, as well as Jodie Kelly-Baxley (Grayton Beach), and Karin Lipp (Infinity). Alice Tarjan has been added with a third horse (Serenade MF).

The Under 25 Squad

The Under 25 squad has been expanded with Chase Shipka on Gladstone Zee T. The list now has five Under 25 combination from across country.

  • Kerrigan Gluch with Vaquero HGF, Hampton Green Farm’s 13-year-old Andalusian stallion

Emerging Athlete Program

Aimed at providing strategic guidance and educational opportunities to athletes under the age of 25, the USEF/USDF program, led by USEF Dressage Youth Coach George Williams, will provide access to educational opportunities and competition planning for qualified athletes.

Melanie Doughty from Cocoa Beach, FL, and Fascinata are new additions to this list.

Young Horse Emerging Program

The USEF/USDF Dressage Young Horse Emerging Program aims to provide strategic guidance and educational opportunities to selected horses in each young horse division of dressage (Four, Five, Six, and Seven-Year-Olds) with the perceived ability to eventually contribute to the Elite Program and achieve Podium scores within three (3) quadrennials.
