British team lynchpin Carl Hester had to be treated by the on-site medical staff for temporary hearing loss at the 2017 European Dressage Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Monday 21 August 2017.

The British Olympian posted on Facebook: "Not everything going to plan with me experiencing Swedish paramedic care and, even more sadder, Gareth withdrawing Don Carissimo from the team, such bad luck for them."

Hester added a photo of a parademedic with a catheter in Carl's ear.  Fortunately, nothing serious was the matter as the multiple Olympian was suffering from temporary hearing loss and had his ears syringed.
