The name Carol Cohen is synonymous with the luxury equestrian lifestyle in Wellington, Florida. In the beginning, Cohen, her daughter Rebecca, and her late husband Alan, owned and operated Two Swans Farm, which was famous for holding educational clinics with top professional riders from around the world. In 2006, Carol realized that she shared Equestrian Sport Productions vision for a world class Dressage venue in Wellington and she subsequently became one of the founding members of the Global Dressage Festival.

Carol has since contributed in making the Global Dressage Festival the premier destination for dressage competition in North America.

As the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) begins its fifth year of prestigious international competition, Carol, who is the newest addition to the luxury real estate team at Engel & Völkers, continues to find new ways to make dressage captivating to audiences and secure its place as a fundamental part of American equestrian culture. This year, Carol is thrilled to present the Global Visionary Dressage Award to individuals who— like herself— want to continue to elevate the sport of dressage to higher levels and encourage the equestrian lifestyle that Wellington is famous for.

Carol, a hunter rider turned FEI Dressage competitor says, “I have been in this community for 17 years. I have had the unique opportunity to see the evolution of Wellington and dressage at the same time. To be able to use the Global Visionary Dressage Award to recognize people who have helped create this wonderful environment is really exciting for me.” Carol, who will represent Engel & Völkers as she presents this award says, “Partnering with Engel & Völkers was so natural for me. They are the most prestigious real estate firm in Wellington and really the world.”

The Global Visionary Dressage Award will recognize professionals and dressage enthusiasts who have put an incredible amount of effort into the growth and promotion of classical dressage. This award will distinguish people who, like Carol Cohen, have followed through on their unique vision to make their beloved sport some of the best in the world. Each award winner will be presented with a beautifully engraved glass horse trophy during the seven CDI-rated competitions being held at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival during the 2016 season.

The 2016 Global Dressage Festival, located in Wellington, Florida, will feature twelve weeks of world-class dressage competition. The festival will run from January 13, 2016 to April 2, 2016. Throughout this fifth annual Global Dressage Festival, three national weeks and seven international weeks of competition will take place. This will include seven CDIs and the only non-championship CDIO Nations Cup in the Western Hemisphere as well as weekly U.S. National events, with a total of over $650,000 in prize money to be awarded to competitors.

Carol Cohen is thrilled to be a sponsor of the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival and present the Global Dressage Visionary Award to her peers. Along with recognizing the sports influential players, Carol also realizes that there must be a pipeline for young riders. To that end, she has joined forces with the AGDF team and Robert Dover to present the first AGDF Leadline class on January 29th. “The community needs to foster the future of the sport and my hope is that the leadline class becomes a recognized divison in the future.”
