Darryl Thickitt will be replacing Peter Storr as Great Britain's new FEI Dressage pony team trainer. Following recent interviews and subsequent Board ratification, the BD BYRDS department announce his appointment.
Peter Storr was the British pony team trainer form 2006 till 2015 and led Team GB to team bronze (2013), team silver (2014), and a historic team gold at the 2015 Europeans. He also coached his own student Phoebe Peters on SL Lucci to
the 2013 and 2015 European Pony Championships title, triple world
records and 2014 Kur silver medal.
During Storr's time Thickitt was the pony progress squad trainer but he's now moving up to the prime squad training position.
Caroline Bell will be replacing Liz Mills as British pony chef d'equipe. The new pony selectors are Andrew Harris (Chief), Pam Bushell, and Sue McMahon, who is replacing Sarah Pidgley.
Also at junior/young riders level a few new appointments have taken place.
The JR-YR selectors are Islay Auty (Chief) and Andrea Smith, joined by Leanne Wall, who is replacing Clive Halsall. There are two chef d’equipe’s: Cara Hayward, joined by Nina Boex & Tracy Ormrod. Anne Keen has stepped down.
Caroline Dawson has also joined British Dressage's U21 Chefs and will help with ponies, Juniors & Young riders.
