Adelinde Cornelissen and her Dutch warmblood gelding Parzival (by Jazz x Ulft) won the Grand Prix at the 2012 CDI-W Odense in Denmark today. Making their show come back after the 2012 Olympic Games Cornelissen led a field of a further 14 riders which qualified for the CDI-W Kur to Music on Sunday.

Adelinde Cornelissen and Parzival lived up to the expectations and won today's World Cup Grand Prix class. Their performance today in The Stadium Arena Fyn lived up to their usual high standard and the judges rewarded it with an impressive total score of 79.362%.

"I intended to give Parzival a break after the Olympics but he was working so well and eagerly so we cut the break short," said Cornelissen. "Instead I have been trying to motivate him by letting him out in the paddock and hacking out. Today's test is the result of my change in the way we work daily. I have tried to give him more self-carriage and make him lighter in the front which in the long term hopefully should result in gold medals at the next Olympics. It's my first visit to Odense and I'm very pleased. The audience is very enthusiastic and the arena is full at each competition."

Danish Olympia Anna Kasprzak made an amazing World Cup debut after having had already a great week in Odense, winning the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I aboard her newest horse, the Grand Prix level trained Darling's Dream. In the Grand Prix Kasprzak and her Finnish warmblood Donnperignon (by Donnerhall x Mozart) performed very well showing a very expressive passage, good flying changes and pirouettes. Horse and rider scored 76.213%.

"Today's test was amazing and it was nice to ride in dry weather," said Anna referring to the rainy weather conditions at the Olympics. "My freestyle tomorrow is the same as in the Olympics. I like the music a lot and the technical level is quite high. I would love to be in the World Cup Finals in Gothenburg in the spring but my main goal is the 2013 European Championships next year in Herning".

Edward Gal's popularity has not faded with the departure of Totilas and aboard the Danish owned breeding stallion Romanov (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II), the Dutch world champion enthused the Danish crowds in Odense. The pair was rewarded a 74.447% by the jugdes.

"Romanov is getting better all the time and I'm very pleased although he was a bit tense up today. He's a big mover and I had to keep him busy," Gal explained.

Ruling Danish Champion Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein placed fourth today aboard her top horse Digby (by Donnerhall x Sandro). They scored 73.872%.
