The lineup for the 15th Oldenburg Saddle Licensing features 22 high-quality, rideable, and agile young stallions, who will compete for the coveted licensing title on April 10 and be auctioned off the following day as part of the 105th Spring Elite Auction.
A Look at the Collection
Besandro Gold, born in 2023, the extremely promising son of former Sattelkörung winner Best of Gold—who is now himself successful at the S*** level—out of the Elite and State Premium mare Edwina by Sandro Hit, bred by Heinz Ahlers, Hatten, will take to the arena. His full brother Bugatti Gold OLD was licensed and has already stood on the podium in S* dressage competitions, while his half-brother Bertolli Gold by Bretton Woods is also impressing in advanced dressage tests. His two full sisters were awarded the Oldenburg Main Premium, with Edwina Gold OLD celebrated as the Reserve Champion Mare at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede in 2024. His grandmother, the Elite and Association Premium mare Elisa, gave birth to the Grand Prix-successful Bellini Gold by Belissimo M as well as two licensed sons, including Special Gold by Sandro Hit, who impressed as a four- and six-year-old in the finals of the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Besandro Gold hails from one of the most successful Oldenburg mare lines, the Edoste line.
In addition, Flashpoint, born in 2023, by Fynch Hatton out of Mona Vuitton by El.H. Vitalis, bred by Wieghaus-Vorwerk GbR, Neuenkirchen-Vörden, is a representative of the Silberranke line. His sire, Fynch Hatton, was the 2019 Champion Stallion at the Oldenburg Saddle Test and the 2021 Ib Main Premium Winner. In 2020, he claimed the title at the National Championships for four-year-old riding horses (stallions) in Warendorf. Granddam El.St. Mona Lisa, in combination with Elite stallion Bordeaux, produced Bourgogne, who was successful at Intermediaire I level. Furthermore, the Grand Prix-winning Feuertanz by Florencio I, as well as the Intermediaire I-placed Royal Flash by Rosentau, Santorini Hit by Sandro Hit, and Mia la Rouge OLD by El.H. Foundation, all hail from this maternal line.

For example, the state-of-the-art Total McLaren daughter Charleen, born in 2022, by Chanel out of Fürst Romancier, bred by Harm Oncken, Sande, has already achieved great success in riding horse competitions and was awarded the Oldenburg Main Premium Candidacy last year. Her dam line includes, among others, the licensed Vaucouver by El.H. Vitalis and the S-level winner Sir Rubin by Sir Donnerhall I.
As early as March 27, you can get an overview of the collection on-site at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta starting at 5:00 p.m. during the first public training session as part of the Oldenburg Dressage Tournament, before the presentation of all auction candidates takes place on Maundy Thursday, April 2, starting at 6:00 p.m. Test rides of your favorites will be available starting March 30 by telephone appointment.
