Australian Olympic team rider Lyndal Oatley will be taking over the reins on Forever Young HRH, her husband Patrik Kittel's international Grand Prix mare.
Forever Young HRH is a 13-year old Westfalian mare by Furst Fugger out of Deflorata HRH (by Don Bosco x ). She is bred by Jörn Hormann.
From Burema to Kittel
German based Dutch dressage rider and horse dealer Caroline Burema of Global Dressage Horses GmbH bought Forever Young as a 6,5-year old. She competed her once in Germany in June 2019 at small tour level.
Burema sold the mare a few years later to Patrik Kittel in February 2020, who sold an ownership share to Arlette Jasper-Kohl. She was acquired as his 2024 Olympic hopeful.
Kittel made his international debut on her at Grand Prix level at the 2021 CDI Donaueschingen, scoring 64.131%. At his next CDI, the 2022 CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch the score was 74.237% in the short Grand Prix. They won both classes in Compiegne and Falsterbo.
Forever Young HRH was Patrik's second iron in the fire alongside Touchdown, who was fielded for the major championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He rode the dark bay mare at the 2023 CDIO Aachen and in 2024 she became his back-up horse for the Olympics.
Kittel won four Swedish Grand Prix Champion's titles on Forever Young: in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Lyndal Oatley
Arlette Jasper-Kohl has now sold her share in Forever Young to Carol and Andrew Oatley, parents of Patrik's wife Lyndal Oatley.
The Swedish Championships last weekend were in principle Patrik's last show on the mare as Lyndal will now begin competing her. They have now swapped rides as Patrik got her Dante's Herzchen.
"We make each other happy and found each other at a cross roads in our careers and it seems fate stepped in and we were in the right place at the same time," Lyndal told Eurodressage about matching with "Flo".
Oatley also has two younger horses coming along, a 6- and 8-year old, with whom she has no competition goals right now.
