German international dressage rider Susanne Krohn has declared for Poland and will represent her new country for the first time at the 2023 CDI Samorin this weekend.

The 37-year old Krohn is from Dätgen in the north of Germany and is from Polish descent.

"My parents were both born in Poland and most of my family still lives there. So I've always had a close connection to the country," Susanne told Eurodressage.

Susanne began her national show career in 2014 on Christine Schulz-Meyn's mare Desperada (by Desperados x Florencio), but it was her own licensed stallion Titolas (by Totilas x Stedinger x Rosentau) which she took from the riding horse test to international Grand Prix.

Titolas is from Totilas' second crop of offspring, born in 2012, and was a high scorer in the 2016 14-Day Stallion Performance Testing. In 2017 Alexandra Bimschas competed him once. In 20-8 Krohn was 22nd in the consolation finals st the Bundeschampionate. In 2019 Ann-Christin Wienkamp helped Krohn out getting the horse established at FEI level.

Korhn made her international show debut on this horse in 2018 in the 6-year old test at the CDI Leudelange and returned to that CDI a year later for the 7-year old classes. Their national Grand Prix debut came in 2021, their international GP debut was for the 2022 CDI Ranbol last November. They scored 60.391%.

"My horse Titolas is maturing more and more into a safe Grand Prix horse," Krohn explained. "He has already won gold twice for Germany on the international CDI-YH Tour. National  he has won several S***."

At the end of March 2023 Krohn declared for Poland and will compete Titolas at the CDI Samorin on 7 - 9 April 2023. Her goal is Paris.

"Paris would be a dream, of course," she said/ "First of all, we are always trying to improve and develop, and Poland offers us every opportunity to do this."
