Austrian stallion owner and dressage sponsor Hans-Jörg Gasser has passed away after a short illness on 12 December 2020. He was 63 years old.

Gasser was managing director of MSG Mechatronics in Austria, a company founded in 2005 with 91 million euro revenue and 240 employees. MSG develops and produces high-quality mechatronic components for the automotive industry.

Trakehner Love

Gasser had a keen interest in the Trakehner breed and since 20A5 was a member of the Trakehner Verband.

His first purchase was Elite stallion Hofrat in 2015. He moved the stallion to station Galmbacher in Germany, where he has been standing at stud.

In 2018, Gasser purchased the Trakehner Licensing Champion Kattenau for 270,000 euro, as well as the auction price highlight Greenwich Park.

In 2019 Gasser's horse Ferrari Forever, which he had purchased as a foal from breeder Dagobert Vester, was named the Trakehner Licensing Champion.

In 2020 his mare Sherazade von der Aue (by Borsalino x Sandro Hit) was named the Austrian Warmblood Mare Champion in the 4-year old division.

Sponsor

Hans-Jörg and his wife Ulrike sponsored Austrian Grand Prix rider Jacqueline Toniutti as owners of her international small tour horse Stradivari, a 9-year old Bavarian warmblood by Stockholm x Alabaster. Toniutti also rode Gasser's home bred mare Amica von der Aue (by Zack) to a fourth place in the 2020 Austrian Young Horse Championships.

German rider Stefan Blanken qualified Hans-Jörg's 4-year old Trakehner bred Königstugend (by Niagara x Interconti) for the 2020 Bundeschampionate, but they did not compete in Warendorf.

Gasser also sponsored the local football club, SV Eibiswald-Pitschgau, a cycling event in Eibiswald, and the local dressage show circuit "Dressur Tour Steiermark." He donated to many charitable causes.
